Vision Statement

Based on the foregoing analyses of the external and internal environment, the vision statement for Ministry of Gender (MoG) is:

“A nation where there is gender equity, equality and full realisation of children’s rights for sustainable development”

The vision statement will serve as a guiding image of the success of management and staff of MoG and a driving force for attaining the set objectives, and ultimately the goal and mission. In addition, the desired state of being of the MoG at some point in time is reflected in the following specific visions based on the McKinsey 7s Model as follows:

Strategy:
“To have a strategy that clearly articulates gender mainstreaming and child development in a cost-effective, efficient, flexible and inclusive manner to attain institutional mandate”

Structure:
“To have a structure that is highly specialised, responsive and flexible in facilitating the achievement of the mission and vision”

Skills:
“To have staff that is multi-skilled, knowledgeable and competent in relevant fields”

Staff:
“To have adequate staff at all levels that is highly qualified, proactive, innovative and adaptable”

Systems:
“To have management, operational and support systems that are institutionalised, functional and effective”

Style (of leadership):
“To have visionary, inspirational, goal oriented, firm, and supportive leadership that recognises and rewards performance”

Shared Values:
“To have members of staff who will uphold the following virtues: Equity, fairness, transparency, accountability, confidentiality, teamwork, integrity, efficiency and courtesy”

Through this, Ministry of Gender will strive at creating an institution that is goal and result oriented known for its effectiveness and professionalism.
