KITWE PAINTED ORANGE AS GENDER DIVISION FLAGS OFF 16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM AGAINST GBV CAMPAIGN

The spirits were high and Kitwe town was painted Orange, as The Gender Division launched the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence – GBV campaign. The Anti-GBV Campaign was Flagged off By Honorable Silvia Masebo Representing The President of The Republic of Zambia, Mr Hakainde Hichilema, as the Guest of Honor.
The event, held under the theme; “Unite to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls,” brought together stakeholders from government, civil society organizations, The UN , other cooperating partners and the community to raise awareness on the need to end GBV.
Speaking on behalf of the Head of State; Honorable Silvia Masebo-MP, hailed the Gender Division led by Permanent Secretary Mainga Kabika, for spearheading the fight against GBV and promoting Gender Equality.
The event featured various activities, including music performances and messages of solidarity, all aimed at promoting a culture of respect and inclusivity in the cyberspace.
