The Office of The President through Gender Division in Collaboration with The IG’s Office Zambia Police have launched a public campaign against GBV, under the theme; “Protect childhood, Report abuse.”
The launch which took center stage in Kanyama at the Chitimukulu grounds on 3rd of July, 2025, was attended by distinguished guests, government officials, partners and civic leaders to drum up support towards the flag off event.
Speaking at the launch, Gender Division Permanent Secretary, Mainga Kabika, boldly called for vigilance amongst community members in reporting rape, child abuse, child marriages, incest and abuse of boys and girls.
The campaign aimed at raising awareness, promote community engagement and encouraging reporting abuses.
The Inspector general of police Graphel Musamba emphasized the need to break the silence and report abuse, while extending gratitude to the Scottish government, Canadian High Commission and other international partners.
And Scotland Police Head of International and Innovation Unit, June Peebles called for consented efforts to strengthen response protocols and investigative techniques while ensuring that survivors of abuse receive the compassionate support they deserve.
Kanyama and its surrounding communities, are set to become the role model in the fight against Gender Based Violence, whereas the Government and its partners are committed to ensuring a safe community for all.
