A ONE STOP CENTER LAUNCHED TO COMBAT GBV IN KAPIRI MPOSHI

The Gender Division has successfully launched a one stop center at Mutaba Health Center in Kapiri Mposhi District, to provide services to survivors of Gender Based Violence-GBV.
The establishment of the center was made possible through the support of the Japanese Organization for Cooperation and Family Planning -JOICFP.
Among other objectives, the center aims to strengthen service delivery, protection, support, and empowerment of GBV survivors.
Other key objectives are to ensure easy accessible services, including psychosocial counseling, legal support, and protection services, under one roof.
According to Gender Division Permanent Secretary, Mainga Kabika, the Referral Pathways, through this center, will improve coordination among government institutions, civil society organizations, and stakeholders to ensure efficient service provision and accountability.
“The referral pathways will hold perpetrators accountable; let’s work tirelessly to ensure that GBV cases are prosecuted and disposed of effectively, with perpetrators held accountable regardless of their status in society.” Ms Kabika emphasised.
Gender Division Permanent Secretary, Mainga Kabika, further emphasized the importance of collective efforts in combating GBV, calling upon stakeholders, including traditional and religious leaders, the private sector, and civil society, to join forces with the government.
She also urged parents, teachers, and the community to be vigilant, while highlighting the need to protect children from abuse in all settings.
Ms Kabika reiterated the Gender Division’s commitment to eliminating GBV and holding perpetrators accountable, thanking JOICFP for their support and encouraging other stakeholders to emulate their efforts.
