President Hakainde Hichilema, a champion of gender equality, met with the Gender Machinery delegation, led by Gender Division Permanent Secretary, Mainga Kabika, at State House today.
The delegation comprised representatives from various stakeholders, including the The UN, ACADEMIA , ZANAMACA, Gender specialists, The Private Sector among others.
President Hichilema emphasized the need for strengthened collaboration among stakeholders, urging the Gender Machinery to find harmonized solutions to pressing gender gaps.
The Head of state proposed setting up a team to synthesize the issues raised and announced his membership in the gender machinery, reaffirming his personal interest in gender issues.
In her welcoming remarks, PS Mainga Kabika expressed gratitude for the president’s support towards the Gender Division as well as issues surrounding gender, and highlighted the visit’s purpose, hoping for fruitful outcomes.
