Official Signing Ceremony of the Joint Project on Gender Equality and Women’s Participation Initiative hosted by the United Nations and the Irish Embassy in Zambia. This is in alignment with the Government of Zambia’s commitment to put a spotlight on Gender Equality.
The joint project seeks to encourage the active participation of Zambian women in economic, social and political arenas, to leverage their skills, knowledge and abilities for the development of sustainable, inclusive and gender equal Zambia.
On the official signing of the Joint Project, the Permanent Secretary of the Gender Division, Mainga D. Kabika (Mrs.) shared: “This initiative therefore adds to the existing gender-related interventions and will leverage on the work that has already been done and will help us move further in our aspirations of promoting gender equality and empowering all women and girls in Zambia.”
This joint initiative, funded by the Government of Ireland, will be implemented by the Government of Zambia primarily through the Gender Division, with technical support from UNFPA, UNICEF, UNHCR, UNESCO and UNDP in Zambia. #SDG5 #SDG10, #SDG17 #Zambia in partnership with #IrelandInZambia and #UnitedNations in Zambia.
